Welcome!
You've stumbled upon my Pokemon shrine! Here is where I put everything Pokemon... There is a lot because I have had a big hyperfixation on this series for atleast a decade. Ever since I was young I loved Pokemon, starting with the original anime. I only got into the games around XY (I was obsessed with letsplays of the games, and wanted to play them) but only got to play a game when Sun and Moon dropped. Unless you count Pokemon Brick Bronze I guess haha (Any other Brick Bronze enjoyers out there?) Nowadays I've played most recent games, all 3DS games, some of the DS era games (Black and Soul Silver) and I have tried some of the older games, but I still need to get around to committing to those. If you show me a picture of a Pokemon, I can name every single one (except some gen 8 + 9 mons). Also a fan of the Pokemon adventures manga, I'm up to the end of the Gold, Silver and Crystal arc.
So I'm sure you're wondering what will be on this shrine aside from ramblings. Well, yes there will be a lot of me writing out my thoughts on each game, anime and manga... But I'll also be adding in some extra cool stuff I'm passionate about, especially shiny hunting. Across each game page, I will be including shiny hunting guides if anyone wants tips on hunting in each game! There will also be a page dedicated to shiny hunting in general because it is my favorite part of the games!!!

Design Inspiration
My shrines design and layout was heavily inspired by the red Pokegear theme in Soul Silver. I really like the theme, gold and red are one of my favorite colour combos!
The golden borders across the page were inspired by the borders around boxes and buttons on the Pokegear. Golden text at the top of the page was based on the clock above the golden Pokeball. Lastly, the background is very clearly based on the top screens background with the stripe and golden Pokeball in the center.
Initially I tried to theme the style more around the gen 4 battle UI, but it didn't turn out looking how I wanted, so I scrapped it.
I tried to make the battle text box the border for the content of the page, and I tried to make the top buttons the same shape as the UI containing the HP bar and Pokemon name. It ended up clashing and didn't look nice.
Kanto
Kanto is probably the most iconic Pokemon region ever, being where the series first picks up in Red and Blue (or Red and Green). There are several games that take place in Kanto, Red and Blue/Green, Yellow, Fire Red and Leaf Green, Pokemon Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu, games set in Johto also feature this region those being Gold and Silver, Crystal and lastly Heart Gold and Soul Silver.
Honestly despite it being so iconic, I haven't gotten into the games from this region much. I did get Pokemon Red on 3DS but didn't play much since I was only exploring for a project. I do want to play Fire Red and Leaf Green though, pretty sure I played a few ROM hacks with those games as the base and I thought they were super cool. I've had a hard time getting my hands on a copy though, so for now I will be holding off on playing those. Let's Go Pikachu I played through a tiny bit, but never finished and it was years ago so I barely remember it. I really should go finish it tho haha
Overall I'm pretty neutral to Kanto. Obviously it's a pretty overrated region, but that doesn't bother me too much. I do love the creepypasta's that came with it (Lavender Town and ESPECIALLY Buried Alive scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.) and the glitch Pokemon like Missing No are cool even though they're unintentional!

Red Playthrough
I started playing Red through the 3DS port of the game back in 2024 when I was doing research for a presentation on the old Pokemon games. Because of that, it was a very unserious playthrough that lasted maybe an hour. I do plan to come back and finish the game, but for now it's been abandoned.
Since there's nothing interesting about the playthrough to talk about, I'll talk a bit about my teams names since a few are references~ My Squirtle was named "Leo" after Leonardo from TMNT since he's my favorite of the group! My Ratatta is named Jerma Rat because I'm uncreative and wanted to reference Jerma that particular day. Lastly, my Caterpie's name is Kitty, named after Yellow from Pokemon Adventures Caterpie with the same name.

Let's Go Pikachu Playthrough
I finally checked my save... So, correction from the last version of my Pokemon Shrine, it was not Let's Go Eevee, it was Let's Go Pikachu. But also, I now see why I don't remember anything about this playthrough, it's because I only had like an hour on the game RAHH I'm not even gonna put my team in because they're all route 1 Pokemon. Yes I know my Red Playthrough was basically the same, but I atleast had something to say about it.
I do want to play this game someday though because I've heard shiny hunting in it is fun! First I'll be playing some older games though.

LAPRAS
A lot of my "favorite" gen 1 Pokemon aren't really any of my favorite Pokemon, but are just the ones out of the original 151 Pokemon. Lapras is a gen 1 mon I Gravitate towards because of its design. I love that it carries people on its back, riding on a Pokemons back has always been a thing I wanted to do as a kid. I also might like Lapras because I used one in my Soul Silver playthrough :D
KANGASKAN
I'm ngl I'm just a big fan of its mega evolution... So powerful... I do enjoy the theory that it is the mother of Cubone though, that's some neat design storytelling!
BILL
Ok this is awkward but all of my favorite gen 1 characters are characters I like because of the manga... so if you want to read my thoughts on them, check the manga section :) Bill created the Pokemon storage system on the PC and in the games manages to briefly turn himself into a Pokemon by mistake.
RED
Also a favorite because of the manga, but I will say game Red and manga Red are two very different characters... One is mute and more serious, while the other is very loud and outgoing.
Johto
Johto is the second Pokemon region, first appearing in Pokemon Gold and Silver which released in 1999. Your starter options are Cyndaquil, Chikorita (my favorite gen 2 starter!) and Totodile. Kanto and Johto are actually connected, Kanto can be accessed after you defeat the champion. Generation 2 introduced 100 new Pokemon which brought the overall count to 251. With generation 2, very important mechanics to Pokemon as a franchise were established such as breeding, dark and steel type Pokemon, Pokemon genders, a day/night cycle, baby Pokemon, friendship, held items and shiny Pokemon (my favorite mechanic!!).
My experience with Johto is pretty limited. I do own the Crystal port on 3ds, but I haven't touched it yet because I want to finish the Red game I own first. However, I am very far through my Soul Silver playthrough and I have to say it's one of my favorite Pokemon games ever. I still need to beat the 8th gym, but I'm actively playing right now so this will be outdated soon. Since I played most DS/3DS era games before being a shiny hunter, I decided my Soul Silver team needed some shiny Pokemon, as you can see my team has all 3 Golden Rod game corner shinies! So much Voltorb flip... I do wish I'd done a shiny hunt for my starter since I've heard that's a fun hunt, oh well. Once I reach Kanto I will be hunting for the other game corner shinies as well!
Although I'd say Soul Silver is one of my favorite games, I have similar feelings towards Johto as a region as I do towards Kanto. Johto is very similar to Kanto, this is because it was a follow up to one of the most iconic video games of all time, so I don't blame Gamefreak for playing it safe and reusing team rocket and not changing stuff too drastically. Basically I'm pretty neutral to Johto, but maybe my opinion will change when I complete the post-game.

Soul Silver Playthrough
One of my favorite save files! Started in 2022, but I took a long break so I'm still working on beating it. I did a lot of shiny hunting whike still doing the main story, so there's a few shiny Pokemon on the team.
I love Soul Silver because of a lot of things. There's a lot of features I enjoy such as shiny hunting, Pokemon following you in the overworld, animated sprites, decent difficulty compared to modern games (no EXP share, but this can sometimes suck because grinding...) and more! It does suck a lot of Pokemon are locked until I reach Kanto though, I remember wanting a Ryhorn but I looked it up and found out I couldn't get one until after the elite 4 sadkalsdlkjasjlk

SCIZOR
For some reason I like a lot of bug type Pokemon, Scizor is one I think is pretty cool! I love its design and nice, red palette. Also helps that it has a cool mega!
FLAAFFY
Flaaffy wasn't originally one of my favorites, but it grew on me after I caught a Mareep in a BW randomized Soul Link nuzlocke I did with 2 other friends. I accidentally nicknamed it "Mareep" so my Flaaffy kept that name. I'm fond of it because Flaaffy carried me pretty hard. It did eventually evolve, but it died almost immediately after... RIP Mareep :(
BUGSY
Despite reading the Gold and Silver manga, I never really got a favorite character from them (I was too attached to the Red and Blue manga cast) but I like Bugsy's design and bug type Pokemon are cool so he is cool by proxy >:)
Hoenn
The third region following Johto released in 2002 with the games Ruby and Sapphire. Gamefreak tried to change up the status quo a bit by seperating it from Johto and Kanto, and gave the player 2 new evil teams to stop! You choose between Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip (one of my favorite starter trios) as your starters. This generation introduced 135 new Pokemon, bringing the total to 386. Abilities were also introduced in this generation along with natures and double battles.
I have a lot of nostalgia for this generation, not because I played the original Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald though, but because one of my first Pokemon games was one of the remakes, Alpha Sapphire. I know that might sound silly if you're an older fan hearing that... "You're nostalgic for a game that came out in 2014?" Yup, that's the truth, time sure flies... I really love ORAS, some of my favorite Pokemon games, but I've never played the original trilogy. Yet another group of games I need to get to sometime, probably after I play the previous generations.
I have a super positive opinion on this generation. I like how it deviated a little from Kanto and Johto by having different evil teams! I love Team Rocket, but if they were in every game I think I would get sick of them. Also love the legendary trio for this game, Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza are amazing Pokemon. Only issue I have with the region is the usual complaint, too much water!! But with some repels it's not too bad hehe

Alpha Sapphire Playthrough
One of my first Pokemon playthroughs along with Pokemon Y and Sun which I started it in 2017. If you're wondering why half of my team is legendaries, that's why. I adore the ORAS games, they're some of my favorites and I've heard others say they're what Nintendo should do when remaking any Pokemon games. They're also apart of gen 6, which is the generation that introduced Mega evolution, my favorite gimmick.
Since it was so long ago, I don't remember any specific details about this playthrough... So I'll talk about some general stuff. I have completed the Pokedex for this game! I did it alongside my Pokemon Y game in like I want to say 2022. I did it for the shiny charm ofc!!! I really liked Pokemon contests as a kid, so I beat all categories of that too, and of course I defeated the champion on the save file.
I revisted the save in 2022 to not only complete the dex for the shiny charm, but I also did it to do a lot of shiny hunting. I love shiny hunting in the gen 6 games!!! A lot of cool shinies on this save...

My first ever runaway shiny hunt, It wasn't too bad either! Unfortunately to even access this hunt, I needed to hack an Eon ticket into my game, but I didn't hack anything else. Sad that such a fun hunt was locked behind a no longer accessible event...
Omega Ruby Playthrough
This has got to be up there with my favorite save files of all time, because it (so far) is my only shiny only save file. Started in 2023, I decided I would beat OR with ONLY shiny Pokemon. The amount of hours I have on this game is a bit much. I have 3 Pokemon and 116 hours on this save. ORIGINALLY I intended to use this save for a video where I beat OR with only shinies, I have footage of the entire playthrough, but I don't know if I will ever make the video because I'm kind of insecure about how I sound in videos sadhjasdhj I do want to complete the game someday though with my shiny only team...
The rules of this challenge were simple, use as many shiny methods as possible, only use non-shiny Pokemon if you HAVE to, but do not use them during battle (shiny locked legendaries) and make sure I have a full team before the elite 4 (of shiny Pokemon only). I also aimed to not leave shiny hunting to the last minute, and always tried to fill my team up as much as I could rather than just using my starter for 80% of the game.

MILOTIC MY BELOVED!!! What a beautiful and cool Pokemon... Despite how much I love this mon I've never used it on one of my teams, but I have shiny hunted it before and it was one of my favorite hunts! The blue shiny is gorgeous.

Honestly I love all of the Hoenn starters, but I chose Sceptile on my first playthrough when I was young and thus I like it the most. Such a cool grassy dude... Sadly his shiny isn't as cool as Mudkips...

I only really grew to love this Pokemon after I played Cobblemon with friends and found a shiny one who I named Barbara. I also love the mega, it's so intimidating!
WALLY
There's something very relateable about how Wally tries his best despite his circumstances. I'm a big fan of his character arc (atleast in the ORAS games, I've never played the original trilogy).

I like... Pirate inspired character designs... Also as a kid I played Alpha Sapphire so I have a slight bias to team Aqua ngl. His anchor necklace holding his keystone is so cool and creative asjkdhkasd AND MEGA SHARPEDO???? THATS SUCH A GOOD MEGA PARTNER FOR HIMM
Sinnoh
Sinnoh is the fourth region released in 2006 with the games Diamond and Pearl. The starter choices of this region were Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup! With its release, new features were introduced to the Pokemon franchise. Wifi allowed players to communicate over the internet, they could trade and battle with other players, this became an essential feature all Pokemon games going forwards. The GTS was also added (RIP GTS, Pokemon home GTS just isn't the same...) which helped players complete their Pokedex's more easily. 107 new Pokemon were added to the dex this generation, bringing the total to 493.
Originally I was going to say "I've never properly played a single Sinnoh game so I don't have any opinions on the region..." BUT Legends Arceus is technically in Sinnoh since Hisui was renamed to Sinnoh eventually according to the history. If Sinnoh as a region is anything like how good Legends Arceus is, then I love it, but as I mentioned I've never played Sinnoh games for some reason... So I have no comments on the region itself. I think it's because I have always been fixated on the more 3DS era games and mostly got an interest in Unova as well as HG/SS because of how good I'd heard they were. Not to say Diamond and Pearl were unimpressive, I just heard less about them so they were a lower priority. Also doesn't help that the controversy around BDSP sort of made me demotivated to play it. I think I played like a few hours of one of those games and then never touched it again. I don't remember a single thing about it. I plan to try get Platinum someday and play it on my 3DS since I think that'll be the best way to play the game!

Legends Arceus Playthrough
Another uncompleted playthrough, but I have a lot of love for this game. I think it was a very vital game to progressing Pokemon as a series considering it was the first "mainline game" (I don't care, Legends games are mainline to ME!!!) to properly do an open world Pokemon game. I also think it's cool for making catching and exploration a bigger draw than fighting, I just found myself running around most of the time and I loved it for that.
My team gets shifted around a lot, so the team to the right is just a collection of my favorite Pokemon to use on a team in this game currently. I hope I'll go back and actually finish this one eventually when I'm less busy with life!

Brilliant Diamond Playthrough
So I opened this just to check my team, wooow I'm not far at all lol I only got to the first gym. Anyway I started this in 2021 and never really kept playing after I started. Maybe someday I'll finish the game, but I really want to finish one of the older games since I've heard BDSP isn't as good as those and I want to play the games that will give me the best impression of a region. Someday BD... Someday...

ROTOM I LOVE YOU!!! YOU'RE SO SILLY AND ITTY BITTY I LOVE YOU!!! It's such a cute Pokemon and really embodies the electric type in my opinion. There's a good reason why it's a kind of mascot for Pokemon nowadays following its inclusion as the Pokedex in Sun and Moon!
FROSLASS
I think Froslass is super cool, the lore around it makes it creepy (in a good way!!) Also think its shiny is neat for such a simple one!
ROSERADE
I think I'm drawn to this Pokemon because it's one of my earliest shinies I ever got (in Pokemon GO ASDJKASKLJD) and I adore its shiny in general. Also helps that Roserade has a nice design in general!

Unova
Unova is the fifth region released in 2010 with the games Black and White on the DS. At the time of its release, it was by far the most controversial game in the series, the controversy was so big even I knew about it before playing a single Pokemon game. This controversy came from the bold decision to make this games Pokedex completely original, players are unable to catch Pokemon they knew from old games until the postgame. Because you can only catch Unova Pokemon for most of the game, it has by far the biggest dex in the series, that being 156 new Pokemon, bringing the total to 649. The starters for Black and White are Tepig, Oshawatt and Snivy (my favorite starter of this gen!). Other features introduced in Unova were seasons, more detailed sprite animations, triple battles and rotation battles.
I can't lie, I love this generation. Although I haven't fully finished the game I have in the series, it's one of my favorites. I'm also nostalgic for the Black and White anime since I remember catching a few episodes as a kid. This was also the region me and my friends decided to do a 3 person soul-link nuzlocke in that I adore!
A lot of people find this games Pokemon designs controversial, but a lot of my favorite desgins come from this generation and I just think it was such a good move. The more mature story was also a plus to this region imo!

Black Playthrough
I love this playthrough, I started it in 2020 but never really got around to finishing it. I plan to finish it after I beat Soul Silver! Anyway, its been really fun since I got to use a lot of my favorite Pokemon from this region like Stoutland, Serperior, Scolipede and Excadrill! I also did some shiny hunting for a Scolipede since it's my favorite shiny, got a Whimsicott along the way :D
Currently I've beaten the 6th gym and still need to beat the 7th and 8th to beat the game.

Pokemon AU for my OCs
I made some Pokemon teams for my OCs in a hypothetical Pokemon AU ^-^ the teams were decided on based on Pokemon lore and designs. Under each profile I'll add some notes if there's any! Please note the paragraphs for each character were taken from a post on Characterhub, so if there's any confusing wording that doesn't make sense here, that might be why asjhdjhaks
Vee
Vee's team is going with the theme of death, machinery, grey, red and blue. Originally Mimikyu wasn't going to be on the team, but since I gave Aster Alolan Raichu as his partner, I thought Vee should have a foil to his Pikachu line Pokemon. Banette was also a last minute addition, but then I realized I wanted some mega evolutions on teams so I added it, also its dex entry gives Vee vibes. Last one I'll mention is Xurkitree, oh my goshhh I never thought about it until I was making these but Xurkitree is literally the ideal Pokemon for Vee in terms of design. It would've been her partner if it wasn't for the Mimikyu stuff!!
Syphus
Ok so originally I was considering making Cacturne his partner because idk it just gives off Syphus vibes, UNTIL I remembered this one episode of the XYZ anime where a Malamar mind controlls a bunch of people. Through research I also found out shiny Malamar is green, and I couldn't miss that opportunity to make it Syphus's partner. Everyone else was kinda based on vibes tbh, not many Pokemon that fit him who are based around mind control (there's Hypno I guess, but I felt like it's be weird to add him to the team considering his history in the fandom askjdkjas)
Dia
Didn't have a big theme for her, just purple, serious and whatever fit her vibes. Espeon and Ceruledge match Ashley, and in hindsight I could've replaced Mismagius with the purple Oricorio for more connections sadjklasl... Fun fact, Shedinja was originally going to be on Vee's team until I realized the wings + colours somewhat fit Dia better >:)
William
Since there aren't any time themed Pokemon (that aren't legendaries) I had to theme his team around steel, psychic, red and yellow Pokemon. Klefki was a funny addition because it's not the greatest Pokemon, but I think William would be fond of it. I think Metagross could've been on Tetra's team honestly, with it having multiple arms, but I think it also fits decently onto Williams! I begrudgingly added Falinks to his team (I was trying to avoid dupes for my own team, but I gave up on that here...) because it was too perfect not to add. Lastly, Kingambit is his ace Pokemon! I think it really suits him :)
Tetra
The moment I was reminded of Toxtricity, I knew it was his partner, they just give off the same vibes!!! Everyone on his team is themed around electricity, water, music and in Barbaracles case having multiple arms. I had a difficult time deciding between Araquanid, Ludicolo and Primarina but in the end I decided I needed more musical Pokemon on his team and I wanted Primarina on my own team, so he got Ludicolo!
Aster
Aster's theme is pretty simple, electricity, yellow, blue and space. Alolan Raichu and Flaaffy were both chosen for the same reason, electricity and being fluffy. I wanted them to match his fluffy hair!!! The others were all chosen because they fit in the theme, not much else to comment on except for the fact that I was going back and forth on whether Minior should be the blue or yellow version, I settled on blue.
Ashley
Ashley's theme is cutesy Pokemon and Pokemon that could represent her interest in making weapons. There was also an additional goal to make some of her Pokemon match Dia's team since they're a couple and seem like the type to have matching Pokemon. Sylveon and Armarouge are matching Dia, but both fit into her themes. I think every other Pokemon is self explanatory except Oricorio who I just picked because she matched Ashley's colours.
Sire
Her team was themed around ice types, regal/royalty and obviously blue. I picked Hatterene as her partner because they give off similar vibes and they both have that blue-pink gradient!!! Only other notable one is her mega Gardevoir, which I made shiny to match her palette! I think it fits :P
Nina
Her teams theme is literally just cats and grass types asjlasdl Leavanny is her partner Pokemon because it evolves with friendship and Nina loves her Pokemon! Also interestingly, her team isn't fully evolved (like Asters) but it isn't due to inexperience, she just does less battles than the others because she'd rather hang out with her team than fight.
Nelward + Anomalee
These poor guys gotta share their team cus they share a body LMFAOOO anyway their team reflects their parasitic relationship and dislike of each other. The heads on Zweilous hate each other, Parasect is controlled by a parasite, Slowbro (Mega) is being consumed by the Shelder on its tail, Morpeko switches into an angry state, Zangoose and Seviper are enemies in the wild. This is by far my favorite team of this batch ^-^ oh btw Zangoose is Nelwards and Seviper is Anomalees!
